President of Ukraine Viktor Yuschenko has waited on the National Bank of Ukraine to ignore advisors who act for political rather than national interests, and not to react to their demagogy.

"I turn to the head of the National Bank with the following request: do not fall under those pressures, demagogy, which are performed around the NBU…I would like you to ignore those advisors who proceed for political rather national intensions," the president reported while opening a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council in Kyiv on Friday.

V.Yuschenko has admitted that "inflation with a budget character can not be combated with monetary tools".

"I have the intension to stress once more: the policy performed by the National Bank in last years is the appropriate policy regarding the economic situation that is now affecting the national, economic and business space. Inflation in Ukraine today, of course, does not have a monetary character," the president of Ukraine admitted.
