
Making speech to journalists at his press conference with President Valdas Adamkus, President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko reported that our country is greatly interested in strengthening of energy cooperation with Lithuania.
According to his words Ukrainian side is absolutely ready to discuss long-term contract with Lithuania on imports of electrical energy from our country, particularly after shutdown of Ignalina NPP, according to the President press-office speech.
"Ukraine has proper possibility at hand. We have export potency necessary to fulfill needs of Baltic region and, possibly, of other consumers", - added Victor Yushchenko.
Also President of Ukraine has shown readiness of 'Atomenergomash' and 'Atomremontservis' companies to supply special equipment and to work at the construction of a new NPP in Lithuania and said that these companies had already sent their bids for the tender.
According to President's words, installation of Ukrainian-Lithuanian energy working group would improve coordination of collaboration between the states in the field.
From his part President Adamkus thanked the Ukrainian party for readiness to such collaboration. "We have always been the state with nuclear energy. And so it will be", - he mentioned. |
