In the result of carried out meeting as for the collaboration in Luxemburg Ukraine and European Union signed the agreement about the simplification of visa regulations and agreement of readmission.

From the Ukrainian side the agreement was signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk, from EU - vice-president of Eurocommission, responsible for the problems of law, freedom and safety, Franco Frattini and Minister of Foreign affairs of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

Agreement about the simplification of visa regulations assumes in particular the simplification of visa issue for the persons that are going to stay in the country for the term from 90 to 180 days. The document has the fixed price of visa takings - 35 EUR.

As well the agreement assumes providing of free visas for the determined categories of people. In particular it is about close relatives, members of the official delegations, members of the government, parliament, some members of local authorities, Constitutional and Supreme Courts, students, PhD students, as well as teachers, invalids with persons accompanying them, those traveling with humanitarian purpose, and those coming for treatment and persons who accompany them.

Besides free visas will be obtained by the people who visit sick relatives, members of International sport contests and persons that accompany them, members of scientific, cultural and creative programs, participants of programs of exchanging between sister-cities, journalists, pensioners, drivers who carry our international transfers.

The agreement assumes the possibility of issue of multiple visas and long termed - to 5 years. According to the new agreement in the case of denying from visa registration the Council has to explain to the citizen the reason of denying. The agreement will not be spread on Denmark, Ireland and Great Britain.

The agreement about readmission provides the order of identification and returning back of the illegal migrants, as well as simplification of their transit transfer. These circumstances touch the citizens of Ukraine and countries-members of EU, and persons without citizenship.

The agreement about readmission of citizens of third countries and persons without citizenship go into effect in two years. Special rapid procedure of returning of persons is provided for the citizens slowed in the regions close to the border. The agreement will not act on the territory of Denmark.

In 13 June the soviet of Ministers as for the problems of Law and domestic affairs of EU approved the signing of the agreements with Ukraine about simplification of visa regulations and readmission. President of Ukraine Viktor Yuschenko agreed to sign these agreements on 2 June.

The agreement about the simplification of visa regulation was initialed on 27 October 2006 in Khelsinki during the Summit Ukraine-EU.
