The United National Organization (UNO) greatly estimates Ukraine's provision to the international safety.
It was learned a statement by the press service of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This statement was noted by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon during his meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kostiantyn Hryschenko at the UN headquarters in New York (The United States of America) on May 3, 2010.
Particularly, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon admitted the decision of Ukraine to delete the stock of highly enriched uranium from its territory as evidence of our country’s leading position in the process of the global nuclear disarmament.
Ukraine and the UNO also have discussed the collaboration of efforts in other areas, including the peacekeeping efforts of the United Nations.
According to the assessment, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon invited Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych to participate in the UN summit on the questions of aims of the development in the millennium to take place in the UN headquarters September 20 through September 22.
As it was earlier reported, during his visit to the USA on April 12 President Viktor Yanukovych declared Ukraine's willing to delete the stock of highly enriched uranium from its territory with the technical and financial assistance from the United States.
Ukraine has intensions to utilize its stock of highly enriched uranium in Russia and hopes the United States will provide Ukraine with low-enriched uranium to continue scientific researches in the country. |
