The Ministry of Transport and Communications of Ukraine expects to start the third stage of its online railway ticket sales system by the end of this year, Deputy Transport Minister Volodymyr Korniyenko has noted.
"I consider that we'll begin to supply with full service for the sale of electronic tickets by the end of this year, but this was previously planned for September," he added during a government hot line on Friday, August 27.
As it was reported, Ukrzaliznytsia started the first stage of railway ticket sales through the Internet in December 2008, which envisaged the possibility of buying tickets for trains with the subsequent registration of travel documents at cash desks.
The second stage was launched in March 2009. At this stage, passengers are able to pay the full ticket fare in the Internet. |
