Sofia Kyivska National Reserve Will be Subordinated to Culture Ministry

The Sofia Kyivska National Reserve will be subordinated to the Culture Ministry of Ukraine, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has noted.

"Where will a museum be? Will it be the Culture Ministry, or somewhere else? The answer is absolutely obvious: all museums should be subordinated to the Culture Ministry. The Culture Ministry is mainly responsible for the development of museums, and this will be the case for the development of Sofia Kyivska.", - he reported in Kyiv on February 10, while visiting the National Museum of Arts.

The Prime Minister admitted that he supports the decision to re-subordinated Sofia Kyivska to the Culture Ministry, and vowed that this decision would be implemented.

Azarov mentioned that the culture minister has to meet with the personnel of the museum and discuss important issues with them.

Currently, the Sofia Kyivska National Reserve that is a state cultural and educational and research establishment, is subordinated to the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of Ukraine. This is stipulated by a respective instruction of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
