
The eighth round of negotiations between Ukraine and the European Union on the formation of a free trade area will be held in Brussels on October 5-8, 2009, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's press service mentioned recently.
The Ministry noted that the last round of negotiations was held on June 30 through July 3, and admitted that clauses on the free trade area will become an integral part of the association contract between Ukraine and the EU.
"The seventh round was focused on such clauses as a free trade area between Ukraine and the EU – trade protection measures, intellectual property rights (geographical indications), transparency, competition – antimonopoly law, trade relationship in the energy field, trade in goods and services, sustainable development and trade, customs issues, fighting fraud, and government purchases," reports the statement. |
