State service of tourism and resorts initiate the building of residential micro region in Kyiv
for the fans of European Football Championship 2012

Such news was reported while the forum of "Development of hotel property" the head of the department of regional development of State service of tourism and resorts Lyudmila Mescherskiy said.

She said that according to the concept developed by the Ministry of family, youth and sport as well as Ministry of economics, in every city where the Championship will take place (Kyiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Lviv) it is necessary to build 50-70 hotels of class form 3 to 5 for the accommodation of about half of million of fans.

In addition Mescherskikh admitted that "after the championship these hotels will not be able to be filled and will not be profitable for the investors…" let is be a small micro region which infrastructure building will completely depend on the government, and the companies that want to make investments will be the accommodations.-she said.

According to her words simple residential houses will be built there, that could be sold to the young families after the championship within the program of youth credit system.

"It will be more logical that building of hotels as there is a lack in Kyiv in average tourists that are not able to live in expensive hotels"- she added.

Mescherskikh mentioned that in general the investments into the building are estimated in 1 mlrd EUR. Kyiv state city administration considers that it is still necessary to build 70 hotels for the fans at the Football championship.
