
The chiefs of defense of NATO and Ukraine have had negotiations on the priorities of bilateral collaboration at a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Military Committee, Ukraine's Mission to NATO told in Brussels on Thursday.
Chief of the General Staff Grygoriy Pedchenko represented Ukraine at the meeting.
Speaking about the prospects for bilateral partnership, he mentioned that in this context the main efforts of the Ukrainian Armed Forces will focus on defense planning, the development of operational capabilities and participation in crisis management operations.
He also noted that Ukraine's international peacekeeping activities would remain an important component of the Ukrainian army's functioning under new conditions.
Pedchenko also dded that despite the financial restrictions of the defense budget, military reform processes were held according to the priorities outlined.
He addedf that such priorities included the optimization of the management and logistics system, the improvement of the capabilities of branches and functional components of the armed forces, as well as constructive cooperation with NATO, the European and the United Nations. |
