The Ministry of Finance assures that the dollar is strong in Ukraine, more than ever

Finance Minister Fedor Yaroshenko assures that the hryvnia exchange rate stability against the dollar will continue until the end of this and the next year.

"Dollar exchange rate [to UAH] will be this year and the next year stable, planned, publicized, and it is no effect on the incomes of citizens will not have" - the minister said, speaking at a plenary meeting on 9 September the Verkhovna Rada.

The minister said the government is extremely constructively with the National Bank, has agreed plan to counter the negative effects of international financial crisis.

Yaroshenko added that the draft of state budget for 2012, which the government will in Parliament on 15 September, will see action from the plan. According to him, the Cabinet will also introduce a new model for the Verkhovna Rada of public debt management.

Finance Minister also stressed that the international reserves of National Bank are very diversified, so "there is practically no risk" that they may suffer in case of aggravation of the situation on international financial market.

Yaroshenko earlier said that the price status quo in the fuel market will also remain.
