
The Ukrainian capital city state administration has suspended growing the subway fare to Hr 2 from Hr 1.7 per trip scheduled for August 28.
On August 28 a one-way trip in Kyiv subway costs Hr 1.7 as before and old tokens are used.
The employee of the municipal enterprise did not note when the subway fare will be raised.
As it was earlier reported, the Kyiv city state administration has made a decision to raise the cost of one trip in Kyiv subway to Hr 2 from Hr 1.7 from August 28.
The Kyiv Metropoliten municipal enterprise running the Kyiv subway expected the fare to grow to Hr 2 per trip by the end of 2010.
On November, 4 2008, the Kyiv city state administration raised subway fares by 400% to Hr 2 per trip.
In November 2008, a working group of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine examined the economic grounds for the higher fares and recommended the Kyiv city state administration to trim the fares.
The Kyiv city state administration lowered the fares by Hr 0.3 to Hr 1.7 per trip and raised the cost of the travel cards by 15-150% from January 31, 2009. |
