New rules for vehicle parking were approved by a cabinet resolution of December 3, 2009, will come into force from March 1, 2010, Irena Kylchytska, the first vice head of Kyiv City State Administration has noted.

"According to the rules, after a vehicle is being parked at a parking lot in line with road signs and markings, drivers have to pay for parking, by purchasing a ticket from an attendant, from a parking ticket machine, or using the service of cell phone parking. A driver has to ensure the payment document is visible, having placed it in the left lower part of vehicle's windscreen," Kylchytska added.

According to her words, an employee of the service for monitoring the observance of parking rules Kyivtransparkservis will record the absence of payment document by taking photos. A wheel clamp will be put on the vehicle to prevent its exit from the parking lot if there is no payment document visible, Kylchytska said.
