
International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission Chief in Ukraine Ceyla Pazarbaseoglu stressed the need of reaching political consensus in Ukraine to find a way out of the current political conditions in the country.
"We know it is very important to reach a political consensus to tackle the current situation in Ukraine," she said at a briefing in Kyiv on Monday.
Pazarbaseoglu reported for the mission at a meeting at the Presidential Secretariat on Monday that it was a significant ptimistic sign that "different political parties have united for the sake of efforts to improve the situation in Ukraine."
She added that the "international economic situation is very difficult," and predicted that global economic indicators would get worsen.
She noted that this year's industrial production would decrease both in developing countries and in Central Europe, where the mission "hopes a very big drop in figures."
Pazarbaseoglu also predicted further falls in the European exports, in particular, from heavy engineering plants. |
