On 28 June 2007 on the territory of Kyiv golf center successfully was held first Kyiv Championship in golf. In the competition 23 golf players took part that won prizes and awards in three groups: open group, women and children of up to 16 years age. The format of contest was individual stable ford.

Before the competition started Minister of Ukraine in family, youth and sport affairs, Viktor Korzh, spoke in public. He proclaimed that he is absolutely sure that such a wonderful kind of sport as golf has a very perspective future in Ukraine.

First hit of Championship was made by the deputy of Ukraine Lev Gnatenko. Then the participants started playing by groups for 3 persons.

Before start each group was instructed by the main referee of the competitions Yan Jorgen de Vri, a member of European Association of Golf Professionals.

Guests were watching the game with great interest. They were able to see the game on the golf-course, as well as on driving range and in the apartments of top floors of Golf center building. Teleoperators tried to embody the most interesting moments of the game. As well video transmission of the tournament was held organized by the company "Mediatek".

In general 4 TV channels were observing the events of this day that were held on the golf course of Kyiv Golf center. The journalists took an interest in the details of the game and took the interview from golf players, trying to predict the results of the competition. Long time before the competition is finished the journalist Anna Lavrenko succeeded to find a right winner! He was future champion of Kyiv in golf 2007 - Kelly Hudikoff.

The most unpredictable was the tournament for the closest strike, held on 13-th hole during the tournament. Samolylenko Viktor was able to approach to the hole closer than others. Let's remind that length of 13 hole was 95 m!

In the group - children of teen age the winner was Alex Samoylenko. The youngest participant of the championship was Nikita Kompachenko of 10 years old who was awarded by the special prize from the tournament sponsor - company Puma Ukraine.

The rewarding of guests took place in funny, unconstrained atmosphere, after which the participants were peacocking for memory photo.

Company "Antal-Krym" concluded agreements with companies Gary Player Group, Inc (USA) and company Synthesis Engineering for the services of consulting, preparing of final plans and development of technical documentation, as well as building in the Crimea a professional golf-club. The preliminary sum of investments to the project includes 300 mln of hrn.

Golf-club "DELOS" will be represented by champion 18-hole field that will be built in one of the most picturesque corners of Crimea over the Gurzuf bay. As Ferrel Scot, representative of Gary Player Design, admitted, on this course the tournaments of Major class are going to be held on this field.

Minimal sum of investments for design and building of golf-course will include about 300 mln hrn. But according to the fact that there is no final project yet and the company Gary Player Group starts the development of project documents, the final sum is not determined yet, as Interfax-Ukraine reports.
