
From the beginning of the 2009-2010 commercial years Ukraine has exported 11.5 million tones of grain that started in July 2009 and will finish in June 2010, which is 8% up on 2008 figure, according to the reports of the Ukrainian Agriculture Ministry.
According to the ministry report, Ukraine has exported 5.7 million tones of wheat, 3.6 million tones of barley, and 1.85 million tones of corn.
Ukraine over the period has also exported 1.4 million tones of rape, which is 26% down on the 2008-2009 commercail year.
The Agriculture Ministry's grain harvest forecast for 2009 is about 48 million tones. In 2008, grain harvest in Ukraine was 56 million tones.
