
Moratorium on selling agricultural land must be cancelled in new year in Ukraine. More than 6,5 millions landowners will be free to sell their shares of land. Is it ready Ukraine to such step and what consequences it will have for agricultural sector in particular - "Radio Svoboda" inquired opinions of specialists and agrarians?
57% of Ukrainians have a disapprovingly attitude to that agricultural lands can be free sell and buy, as evidenced sociological research of the World Bank, which was spent at the end of the year. However a half of villagers support the canceling of moratorium on selling agricultural land, and such representatives among farmers and heads of the agricultural enterprises more that two-thirds.
However President Viktor Yanukovich consider, that Ukraine is ready for creation a free market of land. In Autumn he said, that all drafts of laws, which must regular the market of land relations, were in the Parliament and must be approved at the beginning of 2011 year. That which will have place with Ukrainian village after this stay the objects for discussions.
Prime Minister Mykola Azarov consider, that without review of questions of ownership in the agriculture in the borders of appropriate reform is impossible to provide the needs of country in food and as a consequence the moratorium on selling land it is need to cancel and create conditions for selling land. |
